Fantasy sports platforms have gained significant popularity in India over recent years, with several homegrown products leading the market. Dream11, headquartered in Mumbai, has emerged as the industry pioneer and currently holds the largest market share. The platform allows users to create virtual teams of real players from various sports and earn points based on their actual performance.

Another prominent Indian fantasy sports product is MyTeam11, which offers similar gaming experiences across cricket, football, basketball, and kabaddi. Based in Noida, the platform has attracted millions of users with its user-friendly interface and multiple contest formats.

MPL (Mobile Premier League) deserves special mention as it expanded from fantasy sports to include various other skill-based games. Founded in Bengaluru, MPL has become one of India\“s fastest-growing gaming platforms, offering fantasy cricket alongside other gaming options.

My11Circle, backed by the Indian cricket legend Sourav Ganguly, has quickly gained traction in the competitive market. The Kolkata-based platform focuses primarily on cricket fantasy games and has partnered with various cricket tournaments to enhance user engagement.

Despite their popularity, these platforms operate in a regulatory gray area. Some Indian states have implemented bans or restrictions on fantasy sports, citing concerns about gambling and addiction. However, the Supreme Court of India has previously distinguished fantasy sports from gambling, considering them games of skill rather than chance.
